Entre la multitud de artistas que se presentaciones en vivo sobre el escenario de los Grammy Awards®, se encuentran varios nominados este año, comoAdele (ganadora de 2 Grammy®), quien regresa a los escenarios luego de cinco meses, Coldplay junto a Rihanna, Foo Fighters, Bruno Mars, Paul McCartney, Nicki Minaj junto a Taylor Swift, Glen Campbell (ganador de 5 Grammy®), The BandPerry, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean y Kelly Clarkson.
El rapero Kanye West logró llevarse siete menciones, entre ellas a Mejor Letra del año por "All of the Lights", y dominó en la categoría de rap, pero se quedó fuera de las categorías a Mejor álbum y Mejor canción, donde destacaron Adele y Bruno Mars, con seis nominaciones cada uno; mientras que media docena de candidaturas a los gramófonos fueron para los Foo Fighters. Con cinco nominaciones se conformaron el rapero Lil Wayne y el artista de música electrónica Skrillex.
La disputa por la estatuilla a la Canción del año corre a cargo de Adele ("Rolling in the Deep"); Bruno Mars ("Grenade"); Kanye West ("All of the Lights"); Mumford & Sons ("The Cave") y Bon Iver ("Holocene"), una competencia de la que se quedó fuera Lady Gaga, quien en cambio con su Born This Way podría llevarse el premio de Mejor álbum, de imponerse ante sus rivales Rihanna (Loud); Adele (21); Bruno Mars (Doo-Wops & Hooligans) y Foo Fighters (Wasting Light).
En la categoría de Mejor álbum latino pop, rock o urbano, Calle 13 son los favoritos, tras arrasar en los LatinGrammy® con su último álbum titulado Entren los que quieran. El grupo mexicano Maná también competirá con su álbum Drama y luz, al igual que el cantautor Gustavo Galindo con su debut Entre la ciudad y el mar. El lote de aspirantes se completa con Los Amigos Invisibles (Not so Commercial) y La Vida Bohème (Nuestra).
Como es costumbre, varios de los nominados de este año participarán de los habituales shows en vivo que presenta la gala, para beneplácito tanto de la asistencia como del público alrededor del mundo. Más adelante se anunciará la lista de artistas.
