TNT transmitirá los Premios Billboard 2013
En esta ocasión, Taylor Swift, fun., Maroon 5, Rihanna y Carly Rae Jepsen son algunos
de los artistas nominados que se darán cita una vez más en el hotel MGM Grand de Las Vegas.
El martes 18 de junio a las 19:15hs., TNT transmitirá uno de los eventos musicales más esperados, que anualmente reúne sobre un mismo escenario a los máximos talentos de la actualidad: los Premios Billboard.
La ceremonia tendrá lugar en el MGM Grand Garden Arena de Las Vegas, y en esta ocasión el anfitrión será el actor nominado al Emmy® Tracy Morgan, de la serie 30 Rock. La música ha sido desde siempre parte de la carrera de Morgan, y en el mítico ciclo televisivo Saturday Night Live supo brindar grandes imitaciones de figuras como Busta Rhymes y Aretha Franklin.
Los talentos que lideran las nominaciones de esta edición son Taylor Swift, fun. y Maroon 5, con once postulaciones cada uno; mientras que con diez les sigue Rihanna y con nueve cierra el podio Carly Rae Jepsen.
Uno de los premios más deseados de la noche es el de Top Artist, cuyos aspirantes son Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, One Direction, Taylor Swift y Rihanna. En tanto, en la categoría de Top Pop Album compiten Adele con 21, Maroon 5 con Over Exposed, One Direction conTake Me Home y Up All Night, y Justin Bieber conBelieve.
De la categoría Top Latin Album participan Prince Royce con Phase II y Romeo Santos con Fórmula: Vol. 1; y por primera ocasión, tres producciones de la cantante de origen mexicano Jenni Rivera estarán peleando por ver cuál se lleva el galardón a casa: La misma gran señora, Joyas prestadas: Pop y Joyas prestadas: Banda. En cuando al rubro Top Latin Artist, los nominados son Shakira, Don Omar, Jenni Rivera, Prince Royce y Romeo Santos.
El artista coreano PSY, a caballo de su pegadizo hit "Gangnam Style", se anota con seis nominaciones. Por su parte, con sus tres postulaciones el Dj y productor David Guetta enfrentará a otros pesos pesados del género como Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Deadmau5 y LMFAO.
Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift y Bruno Mars, quienes encabezaron el Billboard 200 del año pasado, se presentarán en vivo sobre el escenario del MGM Grand, acompañados por Prince. El genio de Minneapolis se apresta a recibir el Billboard Icon Award. La extensa lista de artistas en vivo también incluye a Jennifer Lopez, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown, David Guetta, Pitbull, Christina Aguilera, Macklemore, Ryan Lewis, Selena Gomez, The Band Perry y Kacey Musgraves.
Por su parte, la siempre vigente Madonna recibirá el premio Top Touring Artist a raíz de su exitosa gira mundial de 2012. Titulada MDNA Tour, la misma llegó a los 88 shows y obtuvo una recaudación de 305 millones de dólares.
En el evento de 2012, los grandes ganadores fueron Adele, con doce premios (incluyendo el rubro Top Artist) y LMFAO, con seis. El show contó con más de quince presentaciones en vivo sobre el escenario, incluyendo a Katy Pery, Kelly Clarkson y Usher, con notable repercusión de rating.
Los artistas galardonados en esta noche tan especial serán aquellos que aparezcan mejor posicionados dentro del ranking Billboard, gracias a la interacción de los fanáticos, la venta de álbumes, los resultados de las giras y la participación de los usuarios de Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify y otros populares sitios web.
Los Premios Billboard son reconocidos por pertenecer a la más prestigiosa y antigua publicación dentro de la industria musical. Cada año la revista registra estas mediciones junto a Nielsen Entertainment y Next Big Sound, con el propósito de reunir a los mejores artistas en un mismo lugar. De este relevamiento surgirán los nombres de los mejores artistas de R&B, Rap, Pop, Country, Rock, Latino y música alternativa.
Vive junto a los más grandes artistas el espectáculo único de los Premios Billboard 2013, el martes 18 de junio a las 19:15hs., solo por la pantalla de TNT. Repetición: domingo 23 a las 16:15hs.
Datos curiosos
- La performance de Taylor Swift para su hit "22" fue la más elaborada de la noche, ya que contó con artistas de diferentes compañías teatrales de la ciudad de La Vegas (Circe du Soleil, etc.).
- Conformando una grata sorpresa durante la presentación conjunta entre Pitbull y Christina Aguilera, se produjo el cameo del cantante de A-Ha, Morten Harket. Sucede que la recordada canción "Take On Me" del trío noruego aparece sampleada en "Feel This Moment" de Pitbull-Aguilera.
- Celine Dion volvió al ruedo con su primer álbum en seis años, tras su decisión de poner una pausa en su carrera, un tiempo que la ayudó a reencontrarse con el placer de cantar.
- Como siempre sucede en los eventos de la industria, Madonna fue una de las personalidades más buscada de la noche, tanto por los fanáticos como por los reporteros gráficos. Además, su camarín fue de los más concurridos. Allí se tomó fotos con otras celebridades, entre ellas, su admirada Celine Dion.
- Miley Cyrus, quien se apresta a presentar su nuevo sencillo "We Can't Stop", comenzó en la alfombra azul: "Ahora siento que puedo ser quien soy en realidad (…) tengo una mayor conexión con mi yo, y veo que puedo expresarme mejor con mi música".
- Justo antes de subir al escenario, el artista coreano PSY debió pasar por los sanitarios, lo que causó un verdadero revuelo: la gente ya no hacía la fila sino para pedirle autógrafos y sacarse fotos con él.
- Selena Gomez y Justin Bieber se presentaron en el mismo escenario. Ella abrió la noche con "Come and Get It", mientras que él subió junto a Will.i.am para la canción "#thatpower.", en una de las performances más explosivas de la velada. Y a la hora de recibir su Milestone Award (premio de los fans), Justin pidió que se lo tome en serio: "Tengo 19 años, y estoy haciendo un muy buen trabajo".
- Quien también sorprendió al público y a su grupo de bailarines fue Chris Brown, con espectaculares patadas y acrobacias de Kung Fu durante su canción "Don't Judge Me Singer". Junto a él se presentó la virtuosa guitarrista australiana Orianthi.
- También se confirmó que Will.i.am (integrante de The Black Eyed Peas) trabajará en el próximo álbum de Britney Spears, sucesor de Femme Fatale, editado en 2011.
- Alyssa Milano fue una de las caras del evento, en medio de la promoción de su nuevo show de TV "Mistresses". Además, estaba ansiosa por disfrutar del show de Prince, quien recibió el Billboard Icon Award. Alyssa ya lo había visto en Los Angeles, cuando el genio de Minneapolis la invitó a subir al escenario durante su concierto.
- Además de los ya citados, otros de los artistas que se presentaron en vivo fueron Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj y Miguel, quien lamentablemente lastimó a una fanática durante su show, al caerse del escenario.
- La "alfombra azul" del evento trajo bastantes inconvenientes a la hora de los saludos, pues producía electricidad estática entre los invitados VIP.
